SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - A skydiver has been airlifted to a hospital after a hard landing.

Authorities in Suffolk, Virginia, said in a statement Saturday that the 29-year-old man is “suffering from what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.”

The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. at Skydive Suffolk at the Suffolk Executive Airport. Authorities said he was executing a jump when he experienced a hard landing.

He received medical treatment at the scene before being flown to a hospital in nearby Norfolk. The investigation is ongoing.

A woman who answered the phone at Skydive Suffolk said she wasn’t at liberty to discuss the matter.
