SUFFOLK, Va. (AP) - Police in Suffolk, Virginia, are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured.

The city’s police department said in a press release Saturday that the incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Following a 911 call, police found a man on a downtown street suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities identified him as 21-year-old Anthony Hale of Suffolk. He was airlifted to a local hospital and listed in critical condition.

Officers located a second man in that area around midnight. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. He was identified as 26-year-old Brandon Hudgins of Suffolk.

The investigation is ongoing. Police said Saturday morning that they had no suspect or motive.
