FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (AP) - Police say a 66-year-old woman was killed when she jaywalked on a street and was hit by a driver south of Seattle in Federal Way.

The Seattle Times reports (https://goo.gl/gJAQ5F ) the driver was at an intersection looking left as he made a right turn Friday afternoon.

Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock says the woman stepped out in front of his vehicle and was struck.

Schrock says the woman was initially responsive but collapsed and couldn’t be revived.

The 53-year-old male driver shows no signs of impairment.

An investigation is ongoing.
