TAKOMA PARK, Md. (AP) - Investigators say gang members have been robbing drivers from unlicensed ride services.

The Washington Post reports (https://wapo.st/2iVHLwK) that according to Takoma Park police, gang members have carried out several armed robberies in Takoma Park and Langley Park.

Police say that in both places, drivers are robbed after being called to secluded neighborhoods. They say the criminals sometimes rob several drivers in one night.

Police say the ride service drivers are particularly vulnerable because they often use cash in their transactions.

The Takoma Park Police are joining with the county police to crack down on the robberies.
