BOSTON (AP) - Firefighters took on an early morning blaze at a home on Boston’s east side that left four people displaced and caused an estimated $100,000 in damage.

The Boston Globe reports (https://bit.ly/2iLoM65 ) fire crews were dispatched to the scene on Byron Street around 3 a.m. Friday. Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered flames emanating from the back of the three-story structure.

Three people were evacuated from the home and treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald praised the firefighters for their ability to keep the blaze contained to the building of origin with neighboring homes close by.

The fire was extinguished by 4 a.m.
