BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) - A Cape Cod man has pleaded not guilty to murder and assault charges in connection with a fatal stabbing last year.

The Cape Cod Times (https://bit.ly/2iIIam9 ) reports that 19-year-old Kelly Ridley Jr., of Hyannis, was held without bail after his arraignment Thursday in Barnstable Superior Court.

Investigators say two men were stabbed outside a Hyannis home during a party on Oct. 22. Authorities say 26-year-old Thomas Russell Jr. died after he charged toward Ridley and was stabbed several times.

Court documents say another man was stabbed and survived. No one has been charged in that assault.

Prosecutors say Ridley was arrested hours later after he checked into a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

His attorney reserved the right to argue for bail at a later date.
