SARATOGA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say the driver of a charter bus contracted by Google hit and killed a 51-year-old woman walking through a community college in Silicon Valley.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2iM39VM ) police say the accident was reported Tuesday evening on the campus of West Valley College in Saratoga.

The woman died at a hospital and was identified as Xiaolan Li of San Jose.

College spokesman Scott Ludwig says the bus belonged to Storer Coachways and was contracted by Google to transport workers between the college and the company’s main Mountain View campus.

The company is cooperating with the investigation. Google did not respond to the newspaper’s requests for comment.

In San Francisco has seen complaints that drivers of similar buses routinely commit traffic violations and should be more strictly regulated.
