HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) - Javion Ogunyemi scored a season-high 25 points on 12-of-14 shooting, Lavon Long had 26 points, a career-best 16 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocked shots and Siena beat Quinnipiac 84-75 on Monday night.
Brett Bisping added 17 points with 14 boards for Siena (10-13, 7-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which shot 53 percent, and never trailed after halftime.
Long converted a 3-point play to spark a 14-2 run that put the Saints up by 16 with 1:22 to play. Ogunyemi had seven points during that stretch, including a layup that capped the spurt and made it 79-63.
Andrew Robinson’s layup had pulled Quinnipiac (8-14, 5-7) to 65-61 with 5:30 to go, but the Bobcats committed two turnovers and missed all five of their shots over the next four-plus minutes.
Mikey Dixon and Peter Kiss scored 19 apiece and Chaise Daniels added 18 points, nine rebounds and a career-high seven blocks for Quinnipiac, which has lost three in a row.
