MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Latest on Wisconsin spring election (all times local):
6 p.m.
Wisconsin state Superintendent Tony Evers says he is not worried about being targeted by conservatives as he seeks re-election to a third term.
Evers faces two opponents in the Feb. 21 primary, with the top two vote-getters moving on to the April 4 general election. The superintendent race will get all the attention this year as Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler is running unopposed.
Wisconsin Democratic Party spokesman Brandon Weathersby says “We fielded a number of options for the Supreme Court, but those potential candidates decided not to run for office after taking personal stock and speaking with their families.”
Evers says he doesn’t believe voters will view the superintendent race through a partisan lens.
Conservatives have been lining up behind Dodgeville school administrator John Humphries. Former Beloit superintendent Lowell Holtz is also running.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler will be unopposed for a second term.
No one filed to challenge Ziegler by Tuesday’s filing deadline. That means Ziegler will be the first Supreme Court justice since 2006 to run unopposed.
There will be a primary in the race for state superintendent of public instruction. Two challengers filed to run against two-term incumbent Tony Evers. Dodgeville administrator John Humphries and former Beloit Superintendent Lowell Holtz both submitted signatures to get on the ballot against Evers.
If enough signatures are valid, the three will meet in the Feb. 21 primary. The field will be narrowed to two candidates then for the April 4 spring election.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler has filed nearly 4,000 signatures to get on the ballot this spring.
Ziegler submitted the signatures on Tuesday, hours before the 5 p.m. deadline. No one has filed to oppose her, which would set up the first uncontested Wisconsin Supreme Court race since 2006.
No one had filed signatures yet in the race for state superintendent of schools. Four candidates had indicated they planned to challenge incumbent Tony Evers. They are Dodgeville administrator John Humphries, Germantown school district administrator Jeff Holmes, former Beloit Superintendent Lowell Holtz and Racine high school teacher Rick Melcher.

Candidates for the Wisconsin Supreme Court and state superintendent face a filing deadline to be on the spring election ballot.
Candidates had until 5 p.m. Tuesday to submit the required signatures to be on the April 4 ballot. If more than two candidates are running, they will face off in the Feb. 21 primary.
Incumbent Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler was the only announced candidate for that race. Ziegler is seeking a second 10-year term on the bench. She is part of a five-justice conservative majority.
