SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Jared Brownridge scored 25 points and Santa Clara matched its season high with 14 3-pointers to end a 14-game losing streak against Brigham Young, winning 76-68 on Thursday night.
KJ Feagan and Nate Kratch added 16 points apiece for the Broncos (12-10, 6-4 West Coast Conference), who went 14 of 31 behind the arc and 23 of 52 (44 percent) overall. Brownridge, Fegin and Kratch each had four 3s and Kratch grabbed 10 rebounds
With his fifth-straight 20-point game, Browning reached 1,129 points, passing Bill Cartwright on the WCC list.
Eric Mika scored 23 points for the Cougars (15-7, 6-3), who were 3 of 15 from distance, with TJ Haws adding 15 and Elijah Bryant 13.
Brownridge had two 3s and Kratch one in a 13-0 that gave Santa Clara a 26-17 lead with 6:10 left in the first half. The Broncos led 34-28 at the half and made 14 of 16 free throws in the second half, going 8 of 10 in the last 2:32.
