SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - A man has been arrested after Spokane hospital employees say he abused his 10-month-old daughter in the emergency room.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://goo.gl/WJ3rdj ) the baby was brought to Valley Hospital Thursday for a head injury.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says hospital staff saw her father, 19-year-old Logan Rose, violently throw the baby against a gurney and yell at her to “Go to sleep” when she wouldn’t stop crying.

The sheriff’s office says Rose told a deputy that he may have thrown her down a little harder than he should have. He also said he didn’t know how her head injury occurred.

Authorities say the baby has a skull fracture and severe brain bleeding. She is in serious condition in the pediatric ICU.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
