JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Sarah Palin’s political action committee is shutting down.

Sarah PAC filed a “termination report” Thursday with the Federal Election Commission.

Palin began the committee to support conservative-minded candidates after resigning in 2009 as Alaska’s governor. Palin was the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate.

The termination report shows Sarah PAC spent about $100,000 between Nov. 29 and Dec. 31, and has no cash left. The committee reported no debts.

An FEC spokesman says the commission ensures financial obligations have been met before approving the shutdown.

In an email Wednesday, Palin’s committee declared “a mission achieved” in changing the face and direction of American politics and encouraged people to follow Palin on social media and her website for updates on her next steps.
