Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie will miss Thursday night’s road game against the New Jersey Devils due to a family matter, washingtoncapitals.com writer Mike Vogel reported:
#Caps RW T.J. Oshie won’t play tonight against the Devils. He went home and will miss tonight’s game due to a family matter.

Oshie, 30, has 18 goals and 14 assists in 40 games this season, but has missed eight games for two separate upper body injuries.
Earlier this month, when Oshie was held out of the lineup, Brett Connolly was inserted into Oshie’s spot on the top line, serving as the right wing alongside center Nicklas Backstrom and opposite of left wing Alexander Ovechkin.
Caps forward Chandler Stephenson was recalled earlier this week from AHL Hershey to relieve Jay Beagle, who missed Tuesday’s game against the Ottawa Senators with the flu. Stephenson remains with the team and will be reinserted in the lineup against the Devils.
The Capitals play the Devils Thursday at 7 p.m.
