PAWLING, N.Y. (AP) - New York State Police haven’t closed the books on a 46-year-old Hudson Valley murder.

The shooting death of 49-year-old Emile Zaniboni of Pawling remains unsolved. He was last seen by an employee at his family-owned restaurant at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, 1971. When Zaniboni didn’t return home, his wife and daughter went to the Route 22 restaurant and discovered him murdered inside the bar portion of the eatery. He died from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

Troopers say the former Cattle Car Restaurant was in disarray, with bar stools overturned and coin boxes removed from the juke box and cigarette machines.

State police from the Dover Plains barracks are asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to call (845) 677-7300, or (845)877-3660.
