Naia Resort and Spa, a new luxury resort located on Belize’s Placencia Peninsula, has opened its doors to guests beginning this month. The resort sits on 200 acres of private property in southern Belize, offers a spa, world-class dining, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking as well as outdoor adventure activities like zip lining.

“The concept for Naia emerged from the Belizean experience and is reflected in every aspect of the resort,” said Stewart Krohn, lead partner and a Belizean television executive, in a statement. “We started with an unbelievably beautiful site, and our guiding principle was to enhance that natural environment without overwhelming it.

“I am confident that we have succeeded in turning that vision into reality.”

Naia also offers private beach houses as well as other accommodation options. Each beach house offers a private outdoor shower and hot tubs — all of it set amid the surrounding Belizean jungle.

“Naia Resort and Spa adds tremendous value to the local Placencia community and will welcome guests from across the world eager to experience the beauty of the peninsula,” Director of Belize Tourism Karen Bevans said in a statement. “In recent years, Belize has increased its tourism substantially due to its wonderful beaches, rainforests, cuisine, diverse culture and friendly people, and I am confident Naia will be a wonderful experience for tourists as well.”
