ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Rochester are investigating the cause of a two-vehicle crash that left two women dead and a third injured.
Officers say the accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday near a cemetery on Lake Avenue, where an SUV traveling south apparently went out of control and swerved into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
Police say the SUV’s driver, 42-year-old Kesha Knight, and her 22-year-old passenger, Shakira Howard, both from Rochester, were killed.
The 34-year-old Rochester woman driving the pickup truck was treated at Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Road conditions were icy during Tuesday’s storms but police aren’t sure yet if the weather was a factor in the crash.
