The Washington Capitals announced that forward Chandler Stephenson has been recalled from the AHL Hershey Bears to join the team as they prepare for the Ottawa Senators.

Stephenson made his NHL debut last season on Oct. 15, 2015. Playing in nine games, the 22-year-old did not record a point. However, in the AHL last year, Stephenson recorded a career-high 28 points, scoring seven goals and adding another 21 assists. 

This year with Hershey, Stephenson is fifth on the team in points, with 24 in 39 games.

This is the second time this Stephenson has been recalled to the Capitals. He did not participate in any games the last time he was brought up.

The Capitals play against the Ottawa Senators Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
