SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police have identified a 38-year-old man who was struck and killed by a Utah Transit Authority train in South Salt Lake.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported Sunday (https://bit.ly/2kk09AQ ) that Matthew Jay Evans, of West Valley City, died Saturday after being struck while crossing the train track from the parking lot onto the platform.

Utah Transit Authority officials say Evans was at Meadowbrook Station when a northbound train struck him.
