CHICAGO (AP) - Aundre Jackson scored 17 points and Loyola-Chicago held on in the final two minutes to beat Evansville 67-61 on Saturday.
A 3-pointer by Evansville’s Ryan Taylor cut the Rambler lead to 60-59 with 2:28 left. After 1:12 expired from the clock without a point, Bruno Skokna made a layup with 1:16 left and Milton Doyle made two free throws 52 seconds later which gave Loyola-Chicago a five point lead with 24 seconds remaining.
Jaylon Brown added a layup for the Purple Aces, but it came too late. Evansville finished 1-for-4 with two turnovers over the final 2:28.
Doyle scored 14 points for the Ramblers (14-7, 4-4 Missouri Valley), Skokna added 13.
Loyola-Chicago was out shot by Evansville 50 percent to 46 percent, but hit five more 3-pointers and seven more free throws.
Duane Gibson led all scorers with 21 points for Evansville (10-11, 1-7). Brown added 16 points.
