NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Jordan Bruner scored 25 points and eight rebounds and Miye Oni had 16 points and 10 rebounds to help lead Yale past Hartford 88-72 on Monday night.
Sam Downey gave Yale the lead for good on a layup that followed a pair of free throws he converted. Oni added a pair of free throws and the Bulldogs led 30-27 at halftime.
Jalen Ross’ jumper with 17:55 to play brought the Hawks to within 34-33, but Blake Reynolds countered with back-to-back 3-point plays and the Bulldogs were up 40-33.
At the 16:03 mark, Reynolds made a pair of free throws and Alex Copeland sank two technical foul shots and Yale led 47-35.
Downey scored 14 points for Yale (7-5) and Reynolds added 12.
Ross led Hartford (5-10) with 31 points marking the third time this season he’s scored 30 or more.
Jason Dunn scored 13 points and Jack Hobbs and Hassan Attia each scored 11 points. Attia also collected nine boards.
