ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage police say a 3-year-old girl has been found safe after someone stole a vehicle while she was in the back seat.

Police say in a news release that the Nissan Sentra had been left running with the child alone in the vehicle when someone took the car Sunday evening.

The Anchorage Police Department had issued an alert for help locating the vehicle and the Nissan was found an hour later abandoned behind a liquor store. The child was found unharmed.

Police have not yet identified any suspects or made any arrests.

The case remains under investigation.
