FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Paul Miller hit seven 3-pointers and scored 33 points, Khy Kabellis made five 3s and added 25 points - all career highs - and North Dakota State closed the game with a 18-5 run to beat Fort Wayne 89-83 on Thursday night.
Kabellis and Miller combined to make 17 of 28 from the field, including 12 of 19 from behind the arc. Dexter Werner had 11 points and eight rebounds while Kabellis added five assists for North Dakota State (13-6, 5-1 Summit League).
Mo Evans made a layup and then back-to-back 3-pointers to give Fort Wayne a 78-71 lead with 7:54 to go. Miller, who scored 14 in the final 11:33, responded with a 3 to spark the decisive run. The Mastadons (14-6, 3-3) went nearly 6 ½ minutes without a field goal and were scoreless for 4:46 during that stretch.
Evans had 28 points, including six 3-pointers, Bryson Scott scored 18 and Kason Harrell 16 for Fort Wayne. Scott and Harrell made four 3s apiece.
NDSU made a season-high tying 13 from behind the arc and the Mastadons - who came in with 210 made 3s (No. 3 nationally) - hit 16.
