COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a South Carolina man has pleaded guilty on charges stemming from explosions at two car washes.

The U.S. Department of Justice said in a statement that 44-year-old Jeffrey Dean Daily of Gaffney pleaded guilty in federal court in Anderson to use of an explosive device to damage a building.

Prosecutors say Daily used an explosive device to damage the Chesnee Car Wash on Oct. 1, 2014, and used another explosive device on July 6, 2015, to damage the Oasis Car Wash in Gaffney.

Last July, authorities implementing a search warrant at Daily’s home found components like those used in the two explosions, as well as an intact explosive device in his truck.

Daily, who entered his plea Wednesday, faces up to 20 years in prison at sentencing.
