DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Prosecutors in a southeastern Pennsylvania county say a fugitive wanted on charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run in 2010 was arrested in his native Peru.

Authorities say 46-year-old Nelio Sotomayor-Sanchez was apprehended in Lima, Peru, earlier this month. He’s expected to be extradited to Bucks County to faces charges including homicide by vehicle and involuntary manslaughter in the death of 55-year-old Sheree Maillie.

Prosecutors say Sotomayor-Sanchez was drunk when he collided head-on with Maillie on Dec. 23, 2010, in Middletown Township.

The Newtown Middle School teacher’s aide died at a hospital following the crash.

Prosecutors say Sotomayor-Sanchez fled to Peru after he was charged in 2011. It’s unclear if he has an attorney who could comment.
