PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police say a man was shot in his car while his 4-year-old stepdaughter was in the vehicle.

Lt. Luis San Lucas tells The Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/2iFZi8B ) that Neudy Trinidad was dropping his daughter off at a public housing complex in Providence on Wednesday morning when the assailant approached his car.

San Lucas says the 25-year-old Trinidad told police the suspect shot him in his left thigh as he was getting out of the vehicle.

The suspect fled in a silver Honda SUV and remains at-large.
