MOUNT VERNON, Maine (AP) - A Readfield, Maine, man is facing forgery and theft charges after state troopers say he stole checks from his employer and withdrew more than $28,000 from his employer’s business account.

State police say 28-year-old Tyler Redlevske was hired as a construction worker for a Mount Vernon resident, stole the employer’s work checks and forged his name.

Investigators determined thousands of dollars had been unlawfully withdrawn from the victim’s business account since July 2015.

Redlevske was arrested last week in Augusta and jailed on $30,000 bail. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney and a phone number couldn’t be found for him.
