SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Authorities have found the body of a man who was accused of shooting and wounding his estranged wife at an American Fork convenience store.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2jVamDJ ) that 49-year-old Michael Darrin Lowe’s body was discovered Sunday at a Lehi park.

Police had been searching for Lowe since the Dec. 24 shooting of Tina Marie Lowe, who had been working as a convenience store clerk when she was shot. Police say she remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Officers had found Michael Lowe’s vehicle abandoned the day of the shooting near the park and say there’s no evidence he left the area.

Police also say they discovered a handgun near Lowe’s body, which was partially buried in snow.

An autopsy is being performed to determine his cause of death.
