PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Three vacant management positions at the City of Prescott will remain unfilled, and the city manager says he plans to continue that trend in the months to come.
City Manager Michael Lamar tells the Daily Courier (https://bit.ly/2joyOwG) that the three vacancies will save the city about $447,000 per year.
Lamar says he and other staff members will take on more of the management duties.
The three positions in question are deputy city manager, economic initiatives director and a field and facilities director.
The move comes about a year after the city cut $1.1 million in a number of departments, effective Jan. 1, 2016, which led to various departments dealing with fewer employees.
