OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Marcus Tyus and Mitchell Hahn combined to score 49 points as Nebraska-Omaha used 15 3-pointers to down Western Illinois in a Summit League battle, 86-72 on Saturday night.
Omaha built a seven-point lead at intermission and maintained a double-digit lead through the final minutes of the second half to put the game away.
Tyus, who eclipsed 1,000 career points earlier this month, knocked down 5 of 9 shots from long range and posted 25 points for the Mavericks (10-9, 3-3). Hahn, who hit 6 of 8 3-pointers, added 24 points off the Omaha bench. Tra-Deon Hollins added 13 points, nine assists and six steals.
Omaha shot 27 of 66 from the field (40.9 percent), but was deadly from behind the arc, connecting on 15 of 29 shots from deep.
Mike Miklusak and Dalan Ancrum each scored 17 points for the Fighting Leathernecks (6-11, 3-3).
