MALIBU, Calif. (AP) - Jared Brownridge had 21 of his 30 points after the break and Santa Clara shot 60 percent in the second half to beat Pepperdine 75-61 on Saturday night.
The Broncos (10-9, 4-2 West Coast Conference) led 42-28 with 14:31 left in the game after a 17-4 start to the second half. Lamond Murray Jr. sank back-to-back 3-pointers to bring the Waves (5-13, 1-5) within eight but Brownridge answered with three 3s in a 78-second span to push the lead to 51-36.
Murray finished with 32 points, one shy of his career high, and made 12 of 17 from the field. His jumper with 7:50 left made it 58-49, the last time Pepperdine trailed by single digits.
Matt Hauser scored 16 points, KJ Feagin had 11 points and Nate Kratch added 10 for Santa Clara.
Chris Reyes had 11 points and seven boards for Pepperdine.
