CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming’s newly elected congresswoman, Liz Cheney, will serve on the House Natural Resources, Armed Services and Rules committees.
Cheney announced the committee assignments Friday. She says voters across Wyoming have made clear they want the country taken in a new direction and want Congress and the president to be accountable to the people.
Cheney took office Jan. 3, 38 years after her father, Dick Cheney, first became Wyoming’s lone congressman. Liz Cheney beat Democrat Ryan Greene of Rock Springs by a more than 2-to-1 margin in November.
She replaced Rep. Cynthia Lummis, who has retired after four terms. Lummis was a member of the Natural Resources; Oversight and Government Reform; and Science, Space and Technology committees.
