JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Police have released the identity of a man found dead in a wooded area of Juneau over the weekend.
Juneau police say the man was identified as 23-year-old Brandon Shaun Estes of Juneau. They have preliminarily ruled out foul play. An investigation continues.
The man’s body had been discovered by a hiker on Saturday afternoon. It’s not clear how long the body had been there, but police have said it showed signs commonly associated with being unattended in the woods.
Lt. Dave Campbell, a police spokesman, says a tattoo of Estes’ last name on his body helped aid authorities in Estes’ identification.
