OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - The Lafayette County School Board is looking for a new attorney.

The board decided not to renew state Sen. Gray Tollison’s contract as board attorney.

The Oxford Eagle (https://bit.ly/2iMm5Ap ) reports Tollison confirmed the board’s action this week in an email Thursday. He says he’s enjoyed serving as board attorney for the county schools for the past 17 years, but the board has “decided to go in another direction.”

Tollison has been a state senator since 1996. He is a graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Mississippi School of Law.

The Tollison Law Firm in Oxford primarily focuses on personal injury, products liability and government relations.
