SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say two teenager brothers who were shot on a Syracuse street have died of their injuries.

Syracuse police say officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a shooting on Grant Avenue on the city’s west side.

When officers arrive they found two young men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Upstate University Hospital, where they were initially listed in critical condition.

Police announced Wednesday morning that the teens were brothers who both later died from their injuries.

Authorities have identified the victims as 17-year-old Daniel Diaz-Marrero and 19-year-old Ismael Diaz-Marrero, both from Syracuse.

Police say they have no information on possible suspects.

Officials say Daniel was a senior at Fowler High School and Ismael was a sophomore business major at Le Moyne College in suburban DeWitt.
