NEW YORK (AP) - A community center on Staten Island has become the latest victim in a spate of bomb threats targeting Jewish centers around the country.
CBS New York (https://cbsloc.al/2jFEfYv ) reports that police responded to the Jewish Community Center in Seaview Wednesday morning. Police say a sticker with a swastika, the word “bomb” and Wednesday’s date were found on a bathroom wall. Police searched the building but found no explosives.
In the last two weeks, Jewish community centers in at least six states, including Florida and New Jersey, have been the targets of bomb threats.
An official with the Jewish Federations of North America on Monday said some of the threats were made with prerecorded telephone calls. Some centers were evacuated but no explosives were found.
