SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - The Sacramento Zoo has lost its oldest zebra, Malindi.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2icSm7r ) that that 25-year-old Grevy’s zebra died Monday after she was found unresponsive in her exhibit. Veterinarians found the zebra had low blood sugar and neurological issues, prompting the decision to euthanize her.

Malindi is the most recent in a string of elderly Sacramento Zoo anima deaths. A 24-year-old zebra named Akina died Dec. 28, a 27-year-old Amazon parrot named Jasper died on Dec. 19 and Percy, a 17-year-old North American river otter died Dec. 22.
