PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police are looking for three armed, masked men who robbed two different people on the street about five minutes apart.

Police say they were called after a 30-year-old man went to Aria Frankford Hospital after he was shot twice in the hip about 1 a.m. Tuesday. That man tells police three men in a vehicle drove up and tried to rob him, but when he refused to comply they beat him up and one man shot him.

An 18-year-old woman reports the same three men took $20 and a cellphone from her shortly after she got off a bus at the Frankford Transportation Center.

Chief Inspector Scott Small says the similar descriptions and proximity of the robberies leads police to believe the same three men committed both crimes.
