BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - American Airlines is adding daily flights between Billings and Dallas-Fort Worth and a seasonal flight between Bozeman and Chicago, with service on both routes beginning on June 2.
The airports announced the new direct flights Monday.
A federal grant and incentives from local organizations totaling about $1.3 million are helping to launch the Billings-to-Dallas service.
Billings Logan International Airport officials say the new flights will help open up Billings businesses to markets in the South, Latin America and the Caribbean.
American Airlines began direct flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Bozeman’s Yellowstone International Airport last spring. Airline officials say the success of the Bozeman flights has shown there was enough demand to support the Billings expansion.
Also Monday, American Airlines announced it was adding seasonal flights between Bozeman and Chicago. American’s seasonal Bozeman-to-Dallas flights will start in May.
