TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A former Tucson businesswoman has been sentenced to three months in prison and ordered to pay more than $909,000 in restitution for not paying employment taxes.

Internal Revenue Service officials say 72-year-old Sarah Ellen Hightower Hill was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tucson.

She pleaded guilty last February to a one count of failure to account for and pay employment taxes.

Prosecutors say Hill was the majority owner of several companies from tax years 2009-2011 that operated in part within Arizona.

At least one of the companies specialized in job searches and placement.

For tax years 2009-2011, IRS investigators say the employee portion withheld but not paid by Hill totaled about $616,000 and employer portion not paid totaled nearly $293,000.
