CHICAGO (AP) - A community activist is offering $500 for information about the vandal who smashed a window at a downtown Chicago synagogue and put stickers with swastikas on the building’s front door.

Activist Raul Montes tells the Chicago Sun-Times (https://bit.ly/2kHq055 ) that he hopes the reward for what he calls a “hate crime” will prompt someone to provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

A video released by Chicago police shows a white male climb from a dark-colored SUV outside the Chicago Loop Synagogue early Saturday, put stickers on the door before smashing a window with what appears to be a metal object.

Police said Sunday no arrests had been made but they hope the video will prompt someone to come forward to identify the vandal.
