NEW YORK (AP) - Luke Petrasek scored 18 points, including Columbia’s final two at the free-throw line, and Columbia held on to beat Brown 83-78 on Saturday night.

Columbia (10-9, 4-2 Ivy) had a 23-point lead in the opening minute of the second half but Brown (11-11, 2-4) came back and used a 12-6 run, the last seven Bears points coming from Steven Spieth, to trail 81-78 with 23 seconds remaining. But Petrasek made two free throws and Brown missed two 3-pointers in the final eight seconds.

Jake Killingsworth scored seven points and Mike Smith had seven in a 24-4 run over 7½ minutes of the first half that left Columbia ahead 45-31 before Brown cut the lead to 47-28 by halftime.

Smith finished with 16 points and Killingsworth 14 for the Lions, who shot 56 percent and were 10 of 22 from the arc to beat the Bears for the sixth straight time.

Spieth led Brown with 20 points.
