LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police say a 2-year-old boy was killed after he was accidentally pinned under an elevator at a home in Little Rock’s Heights neighborhood.

Authorities say 2-year-old Fletcher Hartz died Wednesday after he was found trapped in a first-floor elevator shaft. Authorities say emergency responders lifted the elevator off the boy within 30 minutes, but he was pronounced dead.

Authorities are still investigating what happened, but police say the death is considered accidental.

An obituary described Fletcher as “somewhat shy, somewhat sly brown-headed bruiser” who was “destined to be an engineer.” His funeral was planned for Friday afternoon.
