OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is refusing to allow a confessed killer to withdraw his guilty plea.

The court’s ruling on Tuesday upheld a district court decision that denied 22-year-old Bryson Baker’s motion to withdraw his plea to charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and second-degree burglary.

Baker was sentenced to life without parole in 2015 for the 2012 beating and stabbing death of 57-year-old Sheila Stanley at Stanley’s home in south Oklahoma City.

The court said Baker conspired with Stanley’s ex-boyfriend, Harvey Wilson, and Wilson’s daughter to kill Stanley because she had ended her relationship with Wilson.

Wilson was convicted on the same charges as Baker and sentenced to life without parole. His daughter was prosecuted as a juvenile.
