LACONIA, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say human remains discovered along a highway in Tennessee were those of a man reported missing in August after a woman answered a Craigslist ad to be his caregiver.
WMC-TV (https://bit.ly/2lPHdts ) reports the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says the remains belong to Ellis Vogt. A utility worker found his remains Feb. 2 near Laconia.
Officials say a woman answered the Craigslist ad for someone to take care of Vogt. She was reported missing at the same time as Vogt. District Attorney Mike Dunavant identified Pamela Bingham as the woman who answered the ad.
Bingham was later found driving Vogt’s van in Guymon, Oklahoma. She was charged with stealing Vogt’s van and is jailed in Fayette County.
Dunavant said Bingham is a person of interest in Vogt’s death. A call to her lawyer was not immediately returned Tuesday.
