SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A woman accused in a film studio fraud case will go to trial later than expected.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2lR2YJZ) a judge decided Friday to delay Carissa Carpenter’s trial until Aug. 7, 2018, the most recent postponement caused by her changing legal representation.

Carpenter was slated for a June trial before her third attorney in the case requested more time to review tens of thousands of pages of evidence.

Prosecutors say Carpenter used investor money in the studio project to fund an extravagant lifestyle.

She has pleaded not guilty and is free on bond.

The case stalled after Carpenter’s public defender cited an irreconcilable conflict in a January 2016 court filing.

Her second attorney was appointed to Sacramento Superior Court.

John Manning was appointed to represent Carpenter in January.
