FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on Arizona weather (all times local):

7:05 a.m.

The National Weather Service says two storms expected to drop significant snow in northern Arizona may not produce the impacts originally projected because they’ve changed trajectory.

Forecasters say the first storm Sunday will produce mainly scattered showers and only an inch or two of snow and a second storm arriving Monday is no longer expected to produce a foot of snow.

The weather service says the second storm now is expected to produce 2 to 4 inches of snow above 5,000 feet in central Arizona and 3 to 6 inches above 5,000 feet in east-central Arizona, including the eastern Mogollon Rim and White Mountains.

3:05 a.m.

The National Weather Service says parts of northern Arizona can expect a strong dose of winter weather early next week.

Forecasters say the first wave of precipitation from what they’re calling “a potential high-impact winter storm” should occur Sunday, followed by significantly more precipitation on Monday and Tuesday.

Initial estimates put expected snowfall at up to 3 inches above 5,500 feet on Sunday, and a foot or more possible above 6,000 feet by the end of the storm on Wednesday morning.

The weather service says the heaviest snowfall is expected Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

Forecasters say rain in lower-elevation desert areas may be enough to flood low-water crossings and produce rapid flows in streams and washes.
