MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - With rain and warm weather in the forecast, the National Weather Service is warning about potential flooding in Vermont through the weekend.

The weather service says the combination of rain and snowmelt could cause localized flooding. A flood watch is in effect from Friday evening through Sunday evening.

The highest flood threat will be on rivers and streams, where ice is breaking up and could cause ice dams.

The weather service says ice jam flooding could start Friday but much of any flooding is expected after moderate rainfall on Saturday.
