CENTRE, Ala. (AP) - A truck crashed into a house near Centre, pinning the residents against a wall and cutting a fiber optic line that disrupted Charter Communications service in at least two counties.

The Gadsden Times reports (https://bit.ly/2l8H54H) Alabama State Troopers responded to the wreck Friday morning at a house just outside the Centre city limits.

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says the residents of the house are “lucky to be alive.”

The wreck severed a fiber optic line, causing outages in areas including Cherokee County and Etowah County, some lasting until at least midday.

Further information hasn’t been released.
