SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Two Semi-trailer rigs were involved in a fiery, fatal collision on Interstate 80 that left one driver dead.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2mbGNPz ) that a semi hauling oil attempted to pass a stalled big rig on Wednesday in Parleys Canon near Salt Lake City when the stalled semi slid on ice into the oil tanker, rupturing the tank and causing them to burst into flames.

The tanker’s driver escaped the crash unharmed but the other driver was found dead inside his cab, which had been engulfed in flames.

The deceased driver was identified as 67-year-old Wendell Lewis of Maricopa, Ariz.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash but suspect the blizzard-like conditions were a factor.
