MAYNARD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a suspicious device was left outside a home near Boston.
Police say the Maynard homeowner found the package on his front porch on Monday morning.
Responding officers called in the state police bomb squad unit, which rendered the device safe.
A town police spokeswoman declined to describe the package or elaborate on whether it posed any danger citing an ongoing investigation. She says it’s too early in the investigation to say whether the homeowner was targeted.
Maynard is about 20 miles west of Boston.
Anyone with information is asked to come forward.
